King William’s College and The Buchan School has appointed Chief Operating Officer Moira Mackie.
Moira assumed her position at the start of the summer term and, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, will be responsible for the management of the school’s finances and operations.
Prior to working in the education sector, Moira gained extensive experience working in various wholesale and retail companies. Most recently, she was Head of Finance, Bursar and Clerk to the Governors at Kilgraston School in Perthshire, guiding the school through the challenges of a global pandemic.
Moira said: “I am honoured to be appointed as Chief Operating Officer for The Buchan School and King William’s College. It is an amazing opportunity not just for myself, but for my family as well and we are looking forward to embracing Island life.
“I join the school during challenging times, but as we emerge from the pandemic it presents an exciting time to move into a new phase of development. I am joining a forward-thinking Senior Leadership Team and Governing Board and look forward with huge enthusiasm to working with the whole community.”
Mr Joss Buchannan, Principal of King William’s College, said: “We are delighted that Moira has joined us and are thrilled to have someone of her calibre on board. We look forward to working with her and having Moira and her family as part of our community.”
