SCHOOL NEWS – END OF AUTUMN TERM

It has been a busy autumn term at King William’s College full of co-curricular activities, events, and trips. Here are some of the main highlights:
  • The term kicked off with the launch of our House events, led by the Upper 6 (Year 13) Heads of House for Walters, Colbourne, and Dickson. The students enjoyed a day of fun and teamwork with activities like balancing races and speed fancy dress.
  • Congratulations to the L5 (Year 9) students who successfully completed their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh training and qualifying expeditions, demonstrating outstanding teamwork and determination over the two weekends.
  • Our talented Music and Drama students provided a variety of performances, including Poetry Please, Cabaret evenings, and the impressive Autumn Concert. Additionally, the first Live Lounge of the year was a resounding success!
  • Our Drama trip to Los Angeles and Humanities trip to Japan were both tremendous successes, with students visiting iconic landmarks, experiencing unique cultural moments, and creating lasting memories.
  • The girls’ hockey teams have had an exceptional term, displaying remarkable skill, dedication, and teamwork throughout the season.
  • The 1st XV boys’ rugby team played 10 games, celebrating 6 victories and scoring a total of 193 points. Highlights included a thrilling win over Liverpool College and a dominant performance against King’s Rochester.
  • Congratulations to our four Sixth Form students whose art and photography were featured at the prestigious Sovereign Arts Foundation Arts Prize Exhibition. Each received a Judges’ Certificate of Merit for their exceptional work.
  • The term concluded with the House Drama Festival, where Dickson emerged as the winner after a series of outstanding performances.

These are just a few of the many highlights of this term. Well done to all our students for their hard work and individual achievements.
